- Filmmakers, directors, producers, content creators, and performing artists looking for high-quality, custom audio solutions for their projects.
- What makes solidskillsy. different from other music/sound studios?
- A focus on rhetorical impact, narrative integration, emotional resonance, and the inclusion of scholarly and philosophical perspectives.
Our Services
- What services does solidskillsy. offer?
- Original Music Composition (bespoke scores), Sound Design (effects, foley, ambience), Mixing & Mastering, Dialogue Editing, and potentially Sound Supervision or full Post-Production Audio packages. Please see the dedicated landing pages for further info: For filmmakers and content creators and for performing artists.
- Do you only work on feature films?
- No, we work on most types of projects, including feature films, short films, documentaries, commercials, series, video games, online media, as well as musical albums, EPs and singles, etc., depending on what you are working on.
- Can you help with just sound design, or just music?
- Yes, clients can commission individual services or comprehensive audio packages.
- In what genres do you specialise?
- At the core, I am a scholar with experience from many genres. I have played in symphony orchestras, big bands, rock bands, chamber music and have been involved with contemporary performance art and live electronics. I love breaking into new territories and exploring each new project on its own premises.
The solidskillsy.-Process
- How does the collaboration process work?
- The typical flow: Initial consultation > Creative brief & concept development > Composition/Design phases (iterations/feedback) > Final delivery > Post-delivery support.
- What information do I need to provide to get started?
- It depends on the project, but project synopsis, script/treatment, rough cut (if available), desired emotional tone, references (temp music/sound), timeline, budget expectations are always helpful.
- How long does it typically take to complete a project?
- Varies greatly by project scope and complexity, but we will agree on an estimated timeline during the consultation phase. As a rule of thumb, consider a triangle where one side holds “economy”, another “speed” and the last “quality”. Now, you can only choose two sides at once. So, if you want it cheap and fast, it may affect the quality. If you want cheap and high-quality, it may take more time, and so on.
Pricing & Budget
- How much do your services cost?
- Pricing is project-specific, based on scope, complexity, timeline, and rights usage. It also depends on the complexity of the score and whether everything can be done digitally or if you want to use a live orchestra. Can I record it myself, or do I need to hire additional musicians? We provide custom quotes after an initial consultation. Again, as a rule of thumb, consider a triangle where one side holds “economy”, another “speed” and the last “quality”. Now, you can only choose two sides at once. So, if you want it cheap and fast, it may affect the quality. If you want cheap and high-quality, it may take more time, and so on.
Technical & Deliverables
- What are the typical deliverables for a completed project?
- It depends on what you need for your project, but examples include high-resolution audio files (WAV or ADM BWF), stems (dialogue, music, SFX splits, or individual multichannel stems for each musical section, etc.), cue sheets, metadata, and master mixes, delivered in specified formats.
- What software/hardware do you use?
- Please refer to my cribs and gear page.
- What are your turnaround times?
- Depends on project complexity and current workload, but we always strive to meet agreed-upon deadlines. Expedited services may be available.
