As a Full Professor of Music Education at the University of Agder in Kristiansand, Robin brings an exceptional understanding of musicology and performance, having taught and supervised both performers and scholars at Masters and PhD levels, specialising in orchestral music, organology (the scientific study of musical instruments), rhetoric, performativity, and performance practice, particularly for instruments like European and world lutes (ca. 1400–1700) and classical guitar.
Robin’s extensive research in Music Pedagogy, Early Music Performance Studies, and Organology provides deep insight into the very nature of sound and instrumental texture. This academic rigour underpins our ability to craft bespoke scores that are not only theoretically solid, but also embody a profound, practical understanding of an orchestra’s inner workings and the unique capabilities of each instrument. His award-winning research, recognised by the Agder Academy of Sciences and Letters, further validates this commitment to excellence.
Beyond the academic realm, Robin is an acclaimed performer with several albums and international concert experience, giving him a unique, hands-on perspective on music creation and the nuances of live performance. His original compositions have been performed with prestigious ensembles like the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra and The Swedish Wind Ensemble, and have been featured at renowned events such as the Ultima Contemporary Music Festival, Geiger Festival and Stockholm New Music Festival. In 2017, I was invited to supervise University of California’s (UCLA) Early Music Ensemble for a concert project. Robin’s tenure as conductor for the Norwegian Flute Ensemble (2010–2015) further showcases his deep, and wide, engagement with ensemble dynamics and rhetoric.

I stand for pragmatic, cost-efficient and transparent services. My values are centred on honesty, transparency, reliability and quality. One of my superpowers is ASD, which means attention to detail, integrity, high focus and out-of-the-box thinking from a geek with a sincere passion and a solid toolbox.
To give you what you need in the simplest way, my work is mostly based on in-the-box solutions and online communications (e.g. facetime, e-mail and video-conferencing). In addition to gaining worldwide reach and customer contact, it also reduces transport emissions to promote a more eco-friendly industry (which is a win-win). Moreover, when most of our communication is in writing, it is easier to keep track of our collaborative decisions and progress.
environment and compassion
I try to be eco-aware when I work. When building and developing my enterprise, I try to incorporate as much second-hand and repurposed material as I can without forsaking the performance quality and I prefer to collaborate online to reduce travel emissions.
As a collaborator, to me, it is important that everyone is met with respect and that they are allowed to be themselves. I have a long experience with various sorts disabilities and health conditions. In addition to that, I have held a chair in the University of Agder’s central Equality and Inclusion Committee. With this background, I strive to meet people with care, open-mindedness and acceptance.
I also promote fair pay and equal pay for equal work. That is, should I hire someone to work with me on a project, I do my best to be fair and square, no matter who they may be.
security
I take my clients and their projects seriously. I have authored and implemented a dedicated Security Management and Routines guideline drawing on Netflix’s Best Practice advice including other sources such as advice from Avid, advice from the Motion Picture Association as well as other relevant sources. For security reasons, local zero-trust access setup information, beyond my own use, will only be provided to selected collaborators when absolutely necessary and after careful security risk assessment. I offer a chain of custody log and in-progress video files with burnt-in watermarks to my clients as security measures to ensure traceability. My studio is also under video surveillance.
As part of my file management, I can perform file verification through hash comparisons when needed and also provide hashes alongside deliveries, when asked for, for verification on your end (CRC32, MD5, SHA1, SHA256, SHA384 and SHA512).

- Film scoring for features, shorts, documentaries, commercials, Social Media, TV, gaming and more—from the minimalistic, intimate to the epic; live recordings or in the box programmed orchestras with high-end tools. I am also a conductor.
- Mixing, sound engineering, producing and mastering (for streaming) most genres, but specialises in film scores, film sound mixing, sound design, sound editing, dialogue editing, music productions (with special expertise in classical music and folk/native genres). I can also mix and master podcast, radio spots and ads.
- Audio concept development and branding with an optional audio style guide (aka. audio design template/document)
- Cinematic sound logos for influencers, YouTubers and other content creators
- Industrial presentations (e.g. CAD, 2D/3D visualisations, stand presentations, conference/pitch/presentation introductions) with a cinematic feel
- I also offer my services within Industrial product design (e.g. system sounds for smart-tech and other sound-enriched consumer products)
